Resting Dragon

I have heard comments in shows that this little Resting Dragon looks a bit like a person's dog resting in the shade on a hot summer day.

This is nice to hear because this is the look I was going for, a dragon, resting under a shady tree perhaps.

Resting Dragon was created along with another small sculpture “Mother Dragon and Egg”. They are both about the same size and would make great bookend pieces. I had a big dog who was the inspiration for this piece. I often saw him in this very same pose. Dragons are often shown in dramatic poses, mouths open wide, ready to breath fire or engulf some hapless adventurer. Resting Dragon shows a quiet moment when the dragon is just lying around. 

This bronze sculpture can be mounted on a variety of stone bases.
